Has gotten too entirely predictable…at least in churches. The worship music has become acoustic guitar based. Most of it is fairly predictable. Every once in a while a local band comes up with a song that’s pretty good like the worship leader at North valley came up with one called holy moment that’s pretty good. I ran across this song though..and wouldn’t be neato if this genre of music had some truly worshipful songs in it? While the artist probably didn’t mean for this to be a worship song..it’s actually pretty close and really good..and it has my attention..:)
The artist is called Tape Machines and the song is called Arms of Gold. Lyrics follow the embed:
[Verse 1]
Now that I’m looking back, I can see all the signs
I tried to fill in the cracks, that was spread in my mind
But I was all out of hope, lost in an endless maze
The emptiness had unfolded, just like a void but
[Pre-Chorus]
You
Broke the coldness somehow
And lit up a flame
And ooooooh
I was done feeling hopeless, screamed out loud
Because it
[Chorus]
Felt impossible, in my bones
Like getting blood out of a stone, on my own
But you came around
And removed the thorn, in my soul
You guided me out of the storm, I found a home
In your arms of gold
[Post-Chorus]
In your arms of gold
In your arms of gold
In your arms of gold
[Verse 2]
It’s funny how easily, a life can be torn apart
Why couldn’t I simply see, that I was sick at heart
And I am in deep debt, the climb we did was unreal
You made me so speechless, I just can’t believe it
[Pre-Chorus]
You
Broke the coldness somehow
And lit up a flame
And ooooooh
I was my own enemy, screamed out loud
Because it
[Chorus]
Felt impossible, in my bones
Like getting blood out of a stone, on my own
But you came around
And removed the thorn, in my soul
You guided me out of the storm, I found a home
In your arms of gold
[Post-Chorus]
In your arms of gold
In your arms of gold
In your arms of gold
[Bridge]
I rise from the ashes (Ayy-ayy)
With pins and patches
We carry on (Carry on)
I rise from the ashes (Oh-oh-oh)
I heal from your passion
My doubts are gone
In your arms of gold
