News-Post Staff Advertisement Several Frederick County volunteer fire companies plan to host open house events through October during Fire Prevention Month.The National Fire Protection Association’s theme this year is “Protect Your Family From Fire.” Firefighters will be on hand to discuss developing a home escape plan, practicing a home fire drill and checking smoke alarms.Admission to the events is free.
