Burt P. Flickinger III, managing director of Strategic Resource Group, said the shift doesn’t signal a no-confidence vote in Scott. But he believes the board may have thought the company needed to make a change to work better with Obama, who has pushed for the passage of the Free Choice Act, which makes it easier to unionize workers.

Wal-Mart, which has been lobbying against the bill, faced charges this summer that it had pressured employees to vote against Democrats in November because of worries that it would make it easier to unionize workers, a move the company says would not be good for workers. Wal-Mart had acknowledged that it did discuss the bill with its employees, but denied that it was pressuring its employees to vote against backers of the legislation.

David Nassar, director of the union-backed group Wal-Mart Watch — which has been pushing for Wal-Mart to make changes to its business practices — noted that “I don’t think you can divorce this event from the broader political context.”

THis is clearly a case of walmart trying to prepare for the coming curruptobama regime coming into play.  walmart isn’t stupid and they are getting ready for the inevitible corruption, increased costs, negative stock growth..among other things that a socialist president is going to bring…expecially when he forces walmart to unionize.
